Log Cabin Restoration Report – July 2020
Doug Martin, Committee Chair [email protected]
Slow but sure progress is being made on restoring the log cabin complex. The Log Cabin committee is truly grateful for the assistance of Jack Mandel and Brian King for getting the ball rolling. Brian has generously donated a supply of weathered hardwood salvaged from a 1900 era garage that will be used on various repair projects.
Jack has been a huge help singlehandedly restoring the water flow of the spring box by cutting away a section of the concrete pad that was acting as a dam, installing a drain, and general repair of the stonework. Soon the rotted door and frame will be replaced, with appropriately weathered wood thanks to Brian. After cleaning out the accumulated settlement inside, the members will have an energy-free place to cool their favorite beverages. We have already confirmed it can chill beer very well.
We also would like to thank the Board of Directors for approving the additional funds needed to have all three buildings treated to resolve a carpenter bee infestation.
Stay tuned, there is more to come
