Attention Beginning Hunters !!!
This year’s “Introduction to Hunting Seminar” will return to the B-CC IWLA on Saturday, June 4th from 8:30am to 4pm
Preregister for the seminar ASAP, by Wednesday, June 1st, 2021 !!!
The seminar will include instruction and discussions about:- Conservation and ethical hunting behavior- The five W’s and “How” of hunting- The meaning of true hunting success- Preparation for the hunt- Techniques and skills for coexisting with in the woods- Trailing game- Animal habitats and habits- Critical information for beginning archers- Woodland safety and field first aid- “Surviving” being skunked- Wounding an animal, what to do next- What you can learn from a missed shot- The advantages and disadvantages of hunting companions- Choosing an appropriate bow, long gun, or muzzleloader- And even more …
Outdoor time will include discussion on the location for a tree stand, looking for deer signs, and techniques for walking in the woods. There will be time for questions
This seminar does NOT replace the required Maryland Hunter Safety Education course but supplements it
The seminar will be held at the B-CC IWLA chapterhouse at:
- 20601 Izaak Walton Way in Poolesville
The cost is $15 to cover materials
You should bring your own:
- lunch
- boots
- field appropriate clothing
- anti-tick precautions
Class size is limited to 25, so registering early is recommended.
