NRA Basic CCW
This Instructor-led course teaches the fundamental knowledge, skills, and attitude required to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense. This second-day course satisfies the requirements for 16-hour initial MD Handgun Permit (HGP) and 8-hour HGP renewal training. As a prerequisite, students must have attended the first-day course or possess a valid HGP. Classroom/live-fire instruction includes pistol parts, operation, and selection; ammunition; firearm safety, defensive pistol skills; drawing from concealment, loading and stoppage remediation; mindset; carry modes and pistol concealment; firearms law and shooting qualification. Students take an exam to receive a course completion certificate. Loaner centerfire pistols are available.
Live-fire exercise conducted onsite at B-CC’s outdoor shooting range.
