Spring & Fall Overnight Events for Members and Guests
Join us each spring and fall for the B-CC IWLA Family Campout — a relaxed weekend of outdoor fun, nature, and community. Whether you’re pitching a tent for the first time or a veteran of backwoods adventures, the campout offers a relaxed, family-friendly environment where everyone can feel comfortable.
Typical Campout:
  • Saturday Arrival: Pitch your tent near the Chapter House (open all weekend for restrooms and shelter).
  • Fishing & Crafts: Catch your first fish at the Small Pond or get creative with seasonal crafts.
  • Cookout Dinner (Sat): Hot dogs, burgers, cookies, and drinks.
  • Evening Fun: Seasonal activities including hikes, haunted trails, last tag, scavenger hunts and an occasional haunted house
  • Campfire & S’mores: Gather around the fire before lights out.
  • Cookout Breakfast (Sun): Eggs, bacon, pancakes, tots, and strong coffee.
  • Sunday Departure: Last walk about chapter before taking tents down and goodbyes
The family campout is run by volunteers and perfect for families looking to unplug, explore, and connect.

Activities & Food:

Want To Help Out?

We are always looking for volunteers to help out. Whether setting up activities, helping with food prep, or just helping new campers in general, there is always stuff to do, and you get volunteer hours for doing it. Reach out to the Events Committee Chair (eventschair@bccilwa.org)

Evening Activities

Evening activities vary with the seasons. In the spring, campers enjoy a hike with glow-sticks through the Cathedral of Pines to the Big Pond. In the fall, the campout takes a spooky turn; Halloween-themed scavenger hunts, haunted trails, and a creepy cabin crawl filled with surprises. Some years feature glow-in-the-dark laser tag or other games to keep the kids (and adults) active and entertained.
