Wildlife Update – Spotted at the Chapter This Week

A baby deer was spotted in the field across from the beehives earlier this week! The youngster, only a few days old, was walking on its own.

Although young deer are relatively helpless, they take advantage of their natural camouflage and relative lack of smell to avoid predators. As soon as it saw the truck, from which this picture was taken, it dropped to the ground.

The deer’s mother wasn’t seen, but keep an eye out for her! She’s likely nearby.
